The Eveleth District is bordered by Canada to the North, Duluth to the East, Brainerd to the South and Thief River Falls to the West.

MSP District 3100 is one of the largest areas covered in the State, however it has the fewest Troops assigned to it.  The district serves St. Louis, Itasca and Koochiching counties.  D3100 is composed of 4 patrol stations.  The HQ station in Virginia currently is assigned 4 troopers.  It is short due to promotions and retirements and the positions have not as yet been filled.  The Grand Rapids station has 5 Troops.  The Hibbing Station has dropped to three troops also due to promotions and retirements. The Northern most station, International Falls is currently at full complimament patrolled by 4 Troops.  D3100 currently is in an experiment using satellite technology in its radio room.  We now have four squads that have heavy duty computers that run Win 95 for everyday chores, and are hooked to a satellite for transmission of Driver's License, Motor Vehicle checks etc. Also, these computers have communication to radio much like an MDT.   D3100 is two Districts in one.  During the winter months only the locals are seen, with a scattering of snowmobilers from the Cities.  During the summer months people from all over the country and Canada visit the district too.
