Deputy, Investigator and Trooper Honored

Mille Lacs County Sheriff Brent C. Lindgren is please to provide the attached photographs recognizing cooperative working efforts of Minnesota State Patrol and Sheriff’s Deputies.

On January 31st, 2012 National Insurance Crime Bureau Supervisory Special Agent Robert L. Henderson was at the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office and presented State Trooper Brian Milan and Mille Lacs County Sheriff Deputy Bret Erickson (Not Pictured)  and Mille Lacs County Sheriff Investigator Don Lorge with individual awards for their cooperative work on recovering 15 stolen vehicles in central Minnesota.

Mille Lacs County Sheriff Brent Lindgren reports this was a case where a off duty deputy reporting for duty observed a vehicle towing a trailer in the ditch and upon going in service returned to the location as he had remembered seeing an earlier photograph of a stolen trailer he believed was the one he had just seen on his way to the office.  Upon returning to the area he initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle towing the suspected trailer out of the ditch and discovered the trailer was indeed the stolen one from a law enforcement bulletin,  Further investigation with Sheriff Investigator Don Lorge and Trooper Brian Milan revealed the truck was also stolen.  Sheriff Investigator Don Lorge worked with Deputy Erickson and Trooper Brian Milan and drafted a Search Warrant for a location in Kanabec County.  Upon executing the search warrant an additional 13 more stolen vehicles, trailers, automobiles and snowmobiles were ultimately recovered with the assistance of Trooper Brian Milan’s specialized training in auto theft received through the Minnesota State Patrol in association with a partnership with the Anti Vehicle Crime Association of Minnesota .

Sheriff Lindgren would like to take this opportunity to recognize the cooperative efforts of all of these individuals; Deputy, Investigator and State Trooper.  It is through cooperation and working partnerships  together as a team we were able to put this case together.  Sharing of information, working together, and uniting as a team, these three Officers put together an incredible case together worth special recognition.

Sheriff Lindgren would like to remind anyone with information about a stolen vehicles either; Automobile, Truck, ATV, Snowmobile, Trailer or Semi tractors can call the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office at 320-983-8250 and ask for the investigation division.
