2008 SRT Team Members


Break down of the team:
2 Team Commanders, both are Lt.'s that oversee the team
20 total members
1 team leader
3 assistant team leaders
4 scout/snipers
2 members are tactical paramedics from North Memorial that train and assist us in call-outs

Members of the team come from around the state of Minnesota, but are required to live within a reasonable distance from the State Capitol for a quick response. 

Selection Process:
Have 2 years minimum experience on the patrol before someone can apply.
Oral interview
Pass PT test according to the Cooper Standards at a combined score of 70%
Complete a timed practical/obstacle course

The State Patrol Special Response Team is primarily responsible for call outs/extra protection at the State Capitol in St. Paul, MN, for response to high risk situations and for assistance to other agencies around the state of Minnesota for a variety of situations (warrant execution, high risk tactical situations, natural disasters, ect.) 

The Minnesota SRT currently has training a minimum of one time each month and each member is on call 24 hours a day.
